Tank Roof Design #
Roof Type – Specifies the roof type. It supports five types: Self-supporting cone roof, Self-supporting dome roof, Self-supporting umbrella roof, Supported cone roof, and Geodesic roof.
Roof Plate Standard Length – Specifies the standard length of the roof plate.
Roof Plate Standard Width – Specifies the standard width of the roof plate.
Roof Plate Corrosion Allowance (CA) – Specifies the roof plate corrosion allowance.
Roof Insulation Thickness – Specifies the roof insulation material thickness.
Roof Insulation Density – Specifies the roof insulation material density.
Roof Plate Thickness – Specifies the actual roof plate thickness.
Roof Slope – Specifies the roof slope in mm/12mm or in/12in.
Roof angle to the horizontal – Displays the roof angle to the horizontal in degrees.
Roof Radius – Specifies the roof radius of curvature for dome/umbrella roof.
Sketch Type – Specifies the roof plates layout sketch type. It supports two types: Rows – Type I, and Rows – Type II.
Sketch Plate Max Length (Rows) – Specifies the roof plates layout sketch plate maximum length for the rows area.
Sketch Plate Max Length (North/South) – Specifies the roof plates layout sketch maximum length for the north and south area.
Sketch Plate Stagger – Specifies the roof plates layout sketch plates layout stagger distance.
Roof Material – Specifies the roof plate material.
Roof-to-Shell Fillet Weld – Specifies the roof-to-shell fillet weld size.
Roof Plate to Plate Weld Type – Specifies the roof plate-to-plate weld type. It supports five types: Full-fillet Lap joint, Single-V butt joint, Single-V butt joint with backing strip, Square-groove butt joint, and Square-groove butt joint with backing strip.
Bevel Type Roof Plate – Specifies the roof plate edge bevel type. It supports two types: Single Bevel, and Square Cut.
Roof-to-Roof Fillet Weld – Specifies the roof-to-roof plate fillet weld size.
Roof-to-Roof Lap – Specifies the roof-to-roof plate lap distance.
Roof Total Weight – Specifies the geodesic roof’s total weight.
Dome Radius – Specifies the geodesic roof’s dome radius of curvature.
Ignore Roof Erection Requirement – Specifies to ignore roof erection requirement set by construction code.
Frangible Design – Specifies a frangible roof design.
Plot Top Section – Displays a Plot Section window for the roof-to-shell joint area.
Detail of Compression Ring #
Detail Type – Specifies the compression ring detail type. It supports all API 650 Figure F.2 detail types.
Top Stiffener Start Angle – Specifies the top stiffener sections’ start angle.
Top Stiffener Maximum Arc Length – Specifies the top stiffeners section maximum arc length.
Top Stiffener Corrosion Allowance (CA) – Specifies the top stiffener corrosion allowance.
Top angle to top shell distance (h1) – Specifies the top angle to shell distance (h1).
Roof Overlap (B) – Specifies the roof overlap distance (B).
Thickness of bar (tb) – Specifies the top stiffener bar thickness.
Length of bar – Specifies the top stiffener bar length.
Thickness of thickened plate in shell (ts) – Specifies the thickness of the thickened plate in shell (ts).
Length of thickened plate in shell – Specifies the length of the thickened plate in the shell (wc).
Angle Type – Specifies the top stiffener angle type. It supports three types: Std. Long Leg Vertical, Std. Long Leg Horizontal, and Custom.
Angle Size – Specifies the top stiffener angle size.
Angle Thickness – Specifies the top stiffener angle leg thickness.
Angle Horizontal Leg – Specifies the top stiffener angle horizontal leg dimension.
Angle Vertical Leg – Specifies the top stiffener angle vertical leg dimension.

Top Stiffener to Shell Bevel Type – Specifies the top stiffener-to-shell bevel type. It supports four types: Single Bevel Inside, Single Bevel Outside, Double Bevel, and Square Cut.
Stiffener alternative placement – Specify the alternative placement of the stiffener (inside or outside).
Set Automatic Values – Run an algorithm to fully design the compression ring.
Tank Roof Structure Design #
Roof Structure Bay Quantity – Specifies the tank roof structure bay quantity. A minimum value of 1 is allowed.
Rafter Outer Extension – Specifies the rafter outer extension dimension. It represents the distance between the rafter edge and the column circle.
Rafter Maximum Deflection – Specifies the rafter maximum allowable deflection in L/Value.
Girder Maximum Deflection – Specifies the girder maximum allowable deflection in L/Value.
Roof Plates Welded to Structure – Specifies if roof plates are welded to the support structure.
Roof Structure Beam Material – Specifies the roof structure beam material.
Roof Structure Pipe Material – Specifies the roof structure pipe material.
Roof Structure Plate Material – Specifies the roof structure plate material.
Columns CA – Specifies the roof structure column corrosion allowance.
Rafter and Girders CA – Specifies the roof structure rafter and girders corrosion allowance.
Structural Components CA – Specifies the roof structural auxiliary components’ corrosion allowance.
Roof Structure Detail Table – Displays the roof structure top and bottom detail of each bay. By double-clicking a row in the table, a Column Detail Window is displayed for modification.
