The Bottom tab is organized in different areas labeled Tank Bottom Design, Bottom Joint, and Annular Bottom Design
Tank Bottom Design #
Bottom Type – Specifies the bottom type. It supports four types: Flat, Slope (Cone Up), Slope (Cone Down), and Shovel.
Bottom Plate Standard Length – Specifies the standard length of the bottom plate.
Bottom Plate Standard Width – Specifies the standard width of the bottom plate.
Bottom Plate Corrosion Allowance (CA) – Specifies the bottom plate corrosion allowance.
Bottom Plate Thickness – Specifies the actual bottom plate thickness.
Outside Projection – Specifies the bottom outside projection. A distance measured from the bottom edge to the shell face.
Sketch Type – Specifies the bottom plates layout sketch type. It supports two types: Rows – Type I, and Rows – Type II.
Sketch Plate Max Length (Rows) – Specifies the bottom plates layout sketch plate maximum length for the rows area.
Sketch Plate Max Length (North/South) – Specifies the bottom plates layout sketch maximum length for the north and south area.
Sketch Plate Stagger – Specifies the bottom plates layout sketch plates layout stagger distance.
Bottom Plate Material – Specifies the bottom plate material.
Bottom Plate Impact Test – Specifies the bottom plate impact test requirement by the User.
API 650 5.5.5 Requirement – Specifies the use of paragraph 5.5.5 to use butt-welded entire bottom in lieu of annular plates.
Plot Bottom Section – Displays a Plot Section window for the shell-to-bottom joint area.
Bottom Joint #
Shell-to-Bottom Groove Weld – Specifies the shell-to-bottom groove weld size.
Shell-to-Bottom Fillet Weld – Specifies the shell-to-bottom plate fillet weld size.
Bottom Plate to Plate Weld Type – Specifies the bottom plate-to-plate weld type. It supports five types: Full-fillet Lap joint, Single-V butt joint, Single-V butt joint with backing strip, Square-groove butt joint, and Square-groove butt joint with backing strip.
Bevel Type Bottom Plate – Specifies the bottom-to-bottom plate bevel type. It supports two types: Single Bevel, and Square Cut.
Bottom-to-Bottom Fillet Weld – Specifies the bottom-to-bottom plate fillet weld size.
Bottom-to-Bottom Lap – Specifies the bottom-to-bottom plate lap distance.
Annular Bottom Design #
Annular Plate Standard Length – Specifies the standard length of the annular bottom plate.
Annular Plate Width – Specifies the standard width of the annular bottom plate.
Annular Plate to Bottom Overlap – Specifies the annular bottom plate to bottom overlap distance.
Annular Plate Corrosion Allowance (CA) – Specifies the annular bottom plate corrosion allowance.
Annular Plate Thickness – Specifies the annular bottom plate’s actual thickness.
Annular Plate Material – Specifies the annular bottom plate’s material.

Annular Plate Sections Weld Type – Specifies the annular bottom plate sections weld type. It supports five types: Single-V butt joint, Single-U butt joint, Double-V butt joint, Double-U butt joint, and Square-groove butt joint.
Annular Plate Sections Bevel Type – Specifies the annular bottom plate sections bevel type. It supports four types: Single Bevel Inside, Single Bevel Outside, Double Bevel, and Square Cut.
Annular Plate Inside Shape – Specifies the plate inside edge shape. It supports two types: Arc, and Straight.
